A man suspected of drunk driving smashed into a barber shop in Jurupa Valley, causing extensive damage to the building, sheriff’s officials said.
The crash occurred at about 2:15 a.m. Saturday.
Just before the crash, the suspect was traveling north on Mission Boulevard when he began swerving across lanes into oncoming traffic and lost control of his vehicle, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. The pickup truck rammed into the front of Magic Cuts, at 9855 Mission Blvd., which was closed.
Cosme Ibarra-Salazar, 26, of Jurupa Valley was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“A misdemeanor DUI charge is pending, once medical treatment is complete,” Cpl. James Herington said.
