A national children’s hair salon franchise has opened its first location in Alabama.
Pigtails & Crewcuts is located at 700 Montgomery Hwy., Suite 120, in the Vestavia Hills City Center.
The Atlanta-based chain has 64 salons in 22 states, as well as 65 locations in development.
The local store is owned by Jennifer Murray, a mother to two boys, aged 7 and 4. Murray had been working as a data analyst. With a merchandising and business degree from Florida State University and a master’s in Internet marketing, Murray was looking for a challenge and more flexibility in her work schedule.
“Children’s haircuts can often be challenging, but certainly don’t have to be, so we are excited to bring the Pigtails & Crewcuts haircutting experience to central Alabama,” Murray said. “The salon’s mission and experience align perfectly with the family-friendliness and hospitality of the great Birmingham community, and I’m certain kids and parents alike will love what we have to offer.”
The franchise’s salons are brightly colored, with movies, a Nintendo Switch gaming system, books and toys. In addition to traditional haircuts, it also offers first haircut packages, birthday parties and ear piercing.
The Vestavia Hills store is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visit the website or call (205) 732-6748.
