ノーフォークのアンマーホールで隔離生活を送っているウィリアム王子とキャサリン妃一家。一緒に暮らしているのは限られたスタッフだけ。宮殿にいるときは妃のヘアスタイリストのリチャード・ウォードが子どもたちの髪も切っているけれど、非常事態なのでもちろん同行していない。そのためキャサリン妃が子どもたちの髪を切ってあげているという。
関係者によると「キャサリン妃はとても器用で、子どもの髪をカットするのに慣れている。キャサリン妃の母のキャロルはキャサリン妃と妹のピッパ・ミドルトンに料理と子どものヘアカットも教えていた。だから2人にとって子どもの髪を切ることは大騒ぎすることではない。乳母のマリア・ボラロもヘアカットのスキルを持っている」。また髪を切るのを嫌がる子も多いが、王子も王女もとても大人しく切らせてくれるそう。「ジョージ王子の髪を切るのは手がかからない。シャーロット王女は顔に髪がかからないのが好きだから、ポニーテイルにできるくらい伸ばしている」。

4月にウィリアム王子とキャサリン妃一家がSNSに医療従事者への感謝を伝える動画をアップしたとき、一緒に拍手をしていたジョージ王子とシャーロット王女。「外出自粛のせいで髪が伸びた」という印象はまったくしなかったけれど、それはキャサリン妃のおかげだったというわけ。
さらにキャサリン妃もマリアに髪を切ってもらっているという。関係者曰く「キャサリン妃の場合はちょっと整える程度だが、カラーリングも自分でやっていた」。ウォードのサロンから製品を送ってもらって自分でカラーリングしていると関係者は語る。
