2019 has brought out a resurgence of beauty trends from decades past, like neon makeup, Dirty Dancing waves, and the Jackie O. hair flip. Before the year is out, Jennifer Lopez decided to sneak in one final vintage hair accessory, the claw clip.
As all the '90s kids reading this will remember, a claw clip is a barrette designed to secure hair to the back of the head. Instead of throwing hair up into a ponytail, sweep hair back to the nape of the neck, twist it upwards, and clip it in place. You know who else remembers claw clips? JLo.
Lopez and her fiancé Alex Rodriguez shared a series of sweet photos from their blended family's Christmas morning. The photos are meant to give us a peek into the family holiday — we see those matching pajamas — but we couldn't help but notice Lopez's hair was swept back with the iconic old school clip.

As Lopez is apparently aware, claw clips are an ideal way to throw your hair back quickly, and no one moves faster than a mom on Christmas morning.
The clip isn't the only hairstyle she's pulling from the recent past. In mid-December, Lopez wore a bouncy '80s hairstyle so good it had fans begging for a tutorial.
The best part about this old school look is how easy it is to recreate — just find the oldest bag of beauty supplies tucked in a corner of your closet, dig through until you find a claw clip, pull hair back, and secure.
